CMF Watch Pro 2 – Simple is Beautiful

The smartwatch I’ve been using for several years – a Huawei Watch GT2 Pro – is starting to show clear signs of planned obsolescence. Granted, the titanium case is as new as the first day, just like the glass, which has held up despite numerous drops.

The real issue lies with the notification management. After several iOS updates, the Huawei Health app is no longer reliable. For instance, I no longer receive any Skype notifications, and on more than one occasion, I’ve missed important emails due to the lack of notifications.

Furthermore, the step count is no longer automatically synced with the watch, and one of the watch buttons is starting to fail.

For all these reasons, I decided to purchase the CMF Watch Pro 2.

Compared to those of the competition, I think this watch represents a first in the « budget » smartwatch segment, but with premium ambitions. I particularly appreciate the unique identity of this watch, which doesn’t try to copy Apple. Nothing, the parent company of CMF, has its own visual identity, which is more than appreciated.

Regarding the aspect that interests me the most – notifications – there’s nothing alarming to report.

Which is a good thing.

Everything is sent according to the priority levels I have set. An important point of the notification system is that the watch vibrates when you receive a notification, and you need to turn your wrist to read it.

Personally, I’m used to this way of doing things.

Finally, regarding other features, the watch offers comprehensive health tracking, ranging from heart rate monitoring to oxygen saturation, including stress levels.

However, I have some doubts about its durability, and the fact that the watch faces are locked within the CMF environment bothers me a bit. Finally, I doubt that the announced 11-day battery life will be reached: 3 days will suffice.

But for the price, it’s a very good (smart)watch.
